To reserve a spot, submit a Reservation Form (No need to fill it out again if you already submitted it for the PELLETB).
The Physical Fitness Assessment consists of:
- 1.5 mile run (Average: under 14 minutes)
- Push-ups (as many possible in 1 minute [Average:35])
- Sit-ups (as many possible in 1 minute [Average:35])
Please wear comfortable running attire and bring a water bottle!
The Physical Assessment only indicates the minimum physical abilities required to start academy training. Once in the academy, recruits are required to perform at very high physical levels.
You are strongly encouraged to begin a physical exercise program immediately. Your physical training should include the following: Running at least three times a week; both distance and sprints. Strength training exercises such as push ups, pull ups and “dips”. Core strength exercises such as sit ups, leg lifts, and crunches, along with regular stretching. Physical fitness training is a fundamental part of the Academy; students who choose not to prepare in advance will struggle to keep pace with structured physical training sessions. (Pre-academy physical training is voluntary; please consult with your physician prior to engaging in strenuous physical activity.)
In order to graduate from the Academy, recruits are required to take and pass the POST Work Sample Test Battery.
